The Backstory


It can be quite disheartening to read the stats concerning Black women and dating. Equally unsettling are the chances that Black women will marry. Black women are the most entrepreneurial and educated group in America, yet we can't seem to rise above in the category of love. Love By Link aims to empower black women and any others who can relate to be a proactive part of their love life's story. In a nutshell, here is mine.

My husband and I met on Match.com and married about two years later. At the wedding and sometime afterwards, my single friends would ask how I did it and wonder how they could meet a marriage-minded man. Most of them were shocked and amazed that I was even getting married being that they knew my dating history was pretty much non-existent. Thanks a lot friends, lol. Nonetheless, I encouraged them to position themselves to be found.

I was 34 when I got married. Before meeting Bryan, the longest "relationship" I'd had was three weeks. Ikr... So I know how it is to feel unnoticed. To constantly second guess yourself. To feel trapped by failing to live up to family/societal expectations, I've been there, done that, and bought the t-shirt lol.
